The First Step Into A New Life

Before you start any journey in life, whether you are going across town or across country, it all starts with a plan. The same can be said about your spiritual life. It is up to you to decide how you are going to live your life, or even where you are going to live.

So in your plans, have you given much thought about eternity? Like I told my granddaughters when they were expecting their new babies. They are coming whether or not you are ready. Same thing with eternity. It is going to happen, whether you are ready or not. Jesus is coming back really soon. Not to scare people, but I am here to sound the alarm, are you ready?

In the Plan of Salvation, a person needs to know and realize that Salvation is a gift from God. It is not by your works that you are saved. You can not earn it. You can not work for it. It does not work that way.

Salvation is defined as preservation or deliverance from harm, ruin, or loss.

It is also defined as deliverance from sin and its consequences.

John 3:16 (ESV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 6:37 (ESV) All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.

John 14:6 (ESV) Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Rom 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Rom 10:10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. (ESV)

Rom 10:13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (ESV)

If you are ready to begin your new life in Christ, ready to take that first step, then pray this prayer of salvation with your mouth and believe in your heart, and you will be saved.

Lord, I come to you right now to ask for forgiveness for all my sins. I know that I am a sinner and I need forgiveness. The Bible says that if I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in my heart that Jesus died on the cross and was raised from the dead, then I will be saved. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is the Lord and Savior of my life. Thank You for saving me.

In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen
