This morning as I am flipping through the email… I was overwhelmed with emails all from preachers and churches. The message was clear; come to hear the message of the gospel. However, when you open the email and start to read, you will notice there is a price tag attached. More and more messages of the gospel, all with a price. Then as I am reading, I am saddened and just want to scream out, “GOPSEL FOR SALE !” . The Gospel that I know about is not for sale. The Gospel that I know about lifts people up and it is for everyone, for the young, old, rich and poor. The Gospel I know about isn’t just for people that can afford to come and listen. The Gospel that I know about is free to everyone.
Yes, I know that it takes money to spread the gospel. I am very aware of the cost it takes to do anything today. But I do know that where God Guides He Provides. He is the ultimate provider. Does it really take hundreds of dollars per person to spread the gospel? Does it really take hundreds of dollars per person for the utilities for the buildings to spread the gospel? Does it really take hundreds of dollars per person for anything? Then to me, I don’t feel like that is spreading the Word of God. The Gospel that I know is free. As for me, I am going to do what my Jesus said to do, ” and as you go, preach, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons; freely you have received, freely give.” That scripture does not end there it goes on the say, a worker is worthy of his meat… that means to me.. he is worthy of support… God will provide for the utilities and everything that goes with spreading His Message. Does it really cost hundreds of dollars per person for anything?
Scripture was from Matthew 10:7-8
